11 lines, on sheet of paper 31x21.5 cm. (12¼x8½").
George Pitkin, Clerk of the Connecticut superior court, orders treasurer John Lawrence to "release to Oliver Ellsworth Esq attorney for the State of Connecticut the sum of Thirty one pounds Sixteen Shillings & nine pence being a Bill of Cost taxed against Samuel Dunn who was convicted of Poligamas(?) and also the sum of Twenty Eight Pounds fifteen Shillings & eleven pence lawful money taxed against Gordon Whitman who was convicted of being Inimical(?) to the United States of America both convictions were at the Sup Court at Hartford in Sept. AD 1777." Signed by George Pitkin, and signed in receipt by Oliver Ellsworth on the reverse.
