| Payment vouchers for one of the most significant actions in the early stages of the Revolutionary War, the capture of Fort Ticonderoga by the Green Mountain Boys and forces under Benedict Arnold. Oliver Ellsworth (1745-1807), here a member of the Committee of Pay, would go on to help draft the U.S. Constitution and become the third Chief Justice of the Supreme Court. |
