| Partially printed, filled out in ink. Each signed by John Lawrence as Treasurer; on verso are records of interest payments signed by Samuel Lawrence, William Lawrence, R. Butler, & others. 13 are separated, 4 are still on single sheet. Approx. 11x20 cm. |
| Printed Revolutionary War promissory notes, most payable within 7 years of issued, much better than rapidly inflating Continental Dollars. The four on a single sheet are made out to Samuel W. Williams, as is one of the singles, with a separate sheet with a ms. accounting of monies owed him; three are made out to Capt. Stephen Potter, with a separate sheet with a ms. accounting of monies owed him; two are made out to Charles London; the others to various individuals. Each with 1" circular punch cancellation. |
