| A fine copy of this Estienne edition of the 4th century Roman historian's history of the Roman empire. The 18 books of the Rerum Gestarum are the surviving portion of a work that originally extended to 31 books and cover the years 353 to 378. The introduction by Jacob Froben is dated 1533 and was originally printed in Froben's Basil edition of that year. Remarkably clean text beautifully printed using italic type throughout. Adams A972. |
