| A collection of art catalogues from The Society of Independent Artists, which was formed in 1917 by Marcel Duchamp, a French Dada artist. Also includes two booklets from the Whitney Museum of American Art: "Abstract Painting in America," 1935 and "Emil Ganso, 1895-1941." Also, a folding broadside of a public show with Toni Sarg and the Society of Independent Artists, (12¼"x8½"); folding advertisement sheet "Paintings by Margaret Mullin" with preview date and times handwritten to cover; and a lithographed card (5"x8½") advertising "Paintings, Joseph Meert, The Ganso Gallery, Nov.24 to Dec.13" with dates changed by hand from the original & mailing envelope with Joseph Meert signature and date for addressee. |
