Description:
With 5 original negatives, accompanied with 23 developed snap-shot photos from these negatives and from others not included but in the same series (same day and photographer), most are recent, but two are from the period (including the 1 of victory ceremony area with a large crowd and film cameras). Mostly 2½x3½".
On September 27, 1930, Bobby Jones completed the first and only Grand Slam in golf history by winning the U.S. Amateur Open at the Merion Golf Club, Pennsylvania, and the other three majors earlier in the year. These photographs show Jones walking the course during the tournament amongst crowds of spectators and reporters, going from tee to tee, and ultimately the trophy ceremony, including one with several film cameras, one of Jones holding a trophy with NBC microphone behind him, etc. Photographer unknown.
Condition:
A small and consistent hole or bump to one side caused from camera extraction to negatives, else near fine, other photos fine.
