[12], 169, [1] pp. Copper-engraved frontispiece. (12mo) 6½x4, modern half calf & cloth, spine lettered in gilt. Second Edition.
First published in 1787, this popular work went through twelve editions over the succeeding 45 years. Best was Keeper of His Majesty's Drawing-room in the Tower of London. The frontispiece shows a man and woman seated on a stream bank, the man with a fishing pole in his hand, while another angler stands on the opposite bank beyond them; there are flies below the image. Condition:
A little aging to the contents, light offset to the title, else near fine.
